Well, I've always done my own stereo installs. Easy shit.
I've never installed a car alarm before and figured sure, why not do it myself on my truck. After a few hours I decided that I'm glad I did it myself, but I do have a new-found respect for installers who can work quickly and do a good job.
It's not a hard thing to do, it just takes a LOT of time and a LOT of planning. With stereo stuff you can just slap it all in, zip tie the wires down and call it a day. To properly install an alarm you need to make it look factory...not as easy ;)
Right now I'm about 50% done or so. The alarm is functioning fine. I still have to install the remote start stuff, as well as finish wiring up the window control modules (tested them tonight, need to solder/seal the connections tomorrow)
