No Classifieds Reply = Knee-jerk Reaction

Just starting a thread so we can have some open discussion on the not being able to reply in the classifieds section.

I understand your reasoning joel, but if you look at any MAJOR 240sx board (freshalloy, nico, 240sxforums, zilvia, etc...) people can freely reply in the classifieds section. Just because AZ240sx does something doesn't mean it's a good idea.

I for one think that people should be able to post in threads if only so that questions they ask can be seen by everyone. I know if I was selling something and left out a key piece of info (say; details about some body damage or something) I would much rather be able to reply to a question in-thread instead of having to answer a number of emails individually.

well for one this rule wouldnt be needed if people wouldnt have extremely negative opinions about items that people are selling. I for one would be extremely fukin pissed if I was trying to sell something on here and some doushebag replied by saying that i was ripping people off and what i was selling was a piece of shit.

I for one dont think we need a restriction. A dumb negative reply like that is so RARE that on the occasion its does happen, us "Moderators" should just delete the reply and leave it at that. If the Negative Replier gets mad we deleted his post, we tell him to got to hell and go on with our day.

so i see that i have been singled out in the one that has caused the reply function in the classifieds to be disabled. first id like to thank joel for being a dickhead because my reply was a legitimate question and answer type of deal. everyone should be entitled to ask questions they see fit and for one i thought that was information that not only aid myself but others who are would be buyers would like to know.

as far as that goes and me being singled out i will no longer participate in these forums for that reason alone. stupid rules made on an ignorant motive pisses me off. however i will be at most if not all the meets and shit cause i do consider ones that i have met such as doug, james, matt, rolan, mando and yes even you joel as friends. so with that note gl on the forums and have fun. peace.

I agree, the rule is overkill. people who make negative posts in response to classified ads (and im not singling out iser, cause I didnt take offense to his post) can be dealt with differently.

Posting responses on a message board is expected after all.

How about this, we put back the REPLY feature.
BUT, in return, if anyone and I mean anyone including myself or any of the members and moderators find offensive (..causing anger, displeasure, resentment, or affront) AND/OR limits the ability of the seller in selling his/her items (more mphasis on this type of situation), you get banned from the website for the amount of time we choose depending on the situation.

Singled out??? I dont think u were singled out. I think that joel just got tired of the negative remarks "1500-2000. wtf"...... which isnt necessarily a bad remark.... its just that when he told you that if u dont like the price dont reply that its "a ripoff" and keep it to urself, u got a bit overly pissed :angry: .......But ya.... from now on keep the "NEGATIVE COMMENTS" in the classified ad section to yourselves..... All negative posts will be DELETED....

a-ok by me. i think a 'time out' for the offender is much better than reducing the usefulness of this site. that said i hope the 'time outs' are handed out after some discussion between the mods rather than by any one person.

Exactly what is going to happen from now on.. A time out is the extreme... The offender will most likely just be warned and there negative post will be deleted... but if all else fails, ur ass is going to the Corner :D !!

kinda feels like grade school on these forums now because of these new rules. honestly how many negative instances have arised anywhere on this site that honestly caused conflict between members? i can think of 3 at most in my year of being here. thats a pretty good track record buddy.

if your going to have a powerstroke and punish people. punish the ones that dont follow YOUR rules in posting in the classifieds rather then make new ones up for people that ask questions valid questions that sellers dont post (not intended solely for haveblue but in general to most of the sellers that post).
