Hey whats up... my name is Tim and ive been looking to get a 240 for about 4 months now.. with no luck... all I want is a 91-93... is that too much to ask?
haha... yeah well ive been trying to drift in my civic with some luck but I dont want to go too crazy since its my only car... thats why I want a 240... so I can start havin fun... I like to play cs and stuff like that, I work full time and go to school at CCSN part time... every day I day dream about how my car will look when im done with it and all the fun(i hope) ill be having while im driftin around town... and at the track... right now im really pissed because it seems like all the 240s on ebay are f***ing me over... all the ones on the west coast are auto or 5speed with a million miles on it... or its the perfect car for me and its overpriced and in new york... no luck for timmy.... (thats me) oh well guess the only thing I can do is wait untill one comes up... and I hope I see it before other people do... like Dvs1 swooped up that sr20 240 here in town quick... only if I had checked the sites I would have gotten it... oh well....

Not to add insult to injury, but I just sold mine too :)
Either way, welcome to the site. I'm sure you'll find the car you're looking for eventually.

high milage is the LAST thing to considder when buying an S13
Yeah man, don't be too worried about the mileage. There are more important things to worry about, like cupholders! Hope you can master the "drink between the thighs" technique, or "shifting with one hand, holding drink with other.. who the hell is steering" technique, cause we don't have cupholders.

Cup holder? Just pull the ash tray out. Should fit most cups that you have. LOL. Anyway welcome to the board kaotic.

Maybe he wants to stay with the KA, or doesn't have the money for an SR swap right away? In that case, mileage is a very valid concern.
I wouldn't be afraid of buying one in the 100-120K mile range though.

well I do have the money for an sr swap but the reason im looking for a car with lower miles is because 180k miles on a car just is too much... ill buy a car with 150 and less, but I seem to find 150 and more... like that 1990 in town right now... it has a damaged front passenger fender/light faded paint 148k miles no options and the drivers side door trim is falling off... and I havnt even took it for a drive yet :( ... but I have tomorrow off so ill try and get it for 1k if it drives fine...

Just to give you a bit of a warning, remember there are a few extra bits and pieces you'll need for the SR swap in the event you get a single-cam ('89-'90) car:
-power steering stuff
-a/c stuff if you want it
-throttle cable
-gauge cluster (or at least just the tach)
-etc...

all of that shit is easily fixable...S13 180sx fenders are easy to find...the door trim can be fixed with an exacto knife, contact cement, and super glue (did that on mine...worked wonders) and the no options thing is a good thing as its less shit to worry about and less shit to weigh the car down with...ESPECIALLY no power windows...if u fuk up one of yer doors with power windows...GOOD LUCK finding another power door...its like looking for hens teeth
and the whole milage thing...dood its an OLD CAR...i cant tell you the last time i saw an S13 without AT LEAST 120k miles on it...be more concerned with how the engine idles (if its a single cam and rattles the car alot...usually it means that its got a busted motor mount and fuel delivery problems...common issues on single cams...both easily fixed) and how the motor runs...my chassis has close to 160k miles on it...and its cause i do a TON of freeway driving for school (hell my SR already has close to 65k miles on it and i JUST put it in over a year and a half ago with 30k on it)
its a used car...and its going to have issues...but you fix those issues and take good care of it and that car and motor will last you a LONG time

i bought a sohc ka motor with under 100k on it for $200. runs and idles great. on an s13 the motor is the least of the worries.
look for
water leaks, rust, body damage. bad suspension, cracked dash/seats.
you can swap another ka in for cheap, body damage and rust are expensive to fix.
