What does it mean when my engine wont rev past 2.5k rpms? When I reach that point it suddenly starts to jolt back and forth...

It started happening when i was driving on the I-15...my car was not responding when i stepped on the gas in any gear and started slowing down, then it came back and drove fine. I leave my friends house and my engine wouldn't rev past 2.5k and would just jolt after that.

anyone know whats wrong?

Your MAF plug is loose.

I tried playing around with the maf plug, but nothing was happening...is there a way to check if my maf plug is working?

Trace the MAF wires back to where they connect to the main harness. Make sure there are no breaks, exposed wiring, etc.

Although lennon has a point with the coilpacks, a bad coil (and therefore the car running on 3 cylinders) would run rough, but still be able to rev through most of the RPM range. The 2500rpm rev limiter is exactly what happens when the MAF is unplugged since the ECU goes into a fail-safe mode.

...or listen to Rolan and sell the car :haha:

have you tried cleaning the MAFS? and does the car run ne different if the MAFS is unplugged? if the car still acts the same with the MAFS unplugged then it is something with the MAFS

Damn guys...I have a MAFS problem and all you guys wanna buy my car already...I'm not planning to sell it especially when I just got an SR dropped in it...When I wanna sell it i'll announce it and it wont be for a long time.

Yeah, the car runs the same with the MAFS unplugged. Looks like I might need to get a z32 MAFS. I was planning to upgrade to the z32 MAFS anyway.

Z32 MAFS upgrade isnt cheap...youll need an SAFC...Z32 MAFS...and the conversion harness...if you wanna replace yer MAFS for now...just get a 89-90 KA24e (has to be single cam) MAFS and wire it up
