Need Help

well their selling me a 240sx it has been hit on the passenger door and the back of the passenger door the passenger back window broke and the black trim that unites the back window and the passenger window is all dented,
its a 5 speed, ka24e seems to be in good condition, color is maroon
their selling me the car for 300 dollars do you guys think is a good price for this car?
please get back asap

i think your right , but i was planning on swaping the old ka24e motor that i have currently on my car and put that motor in,, the motor is in good conditions and its also a 5 speed , my car is a automatic so i could do a 5 speed conversion on my car,.

Have u tried going to Local Car auctions? Iv seen 240's there very cheap ....
not alot but they do show up in farely ok condition ...

yea i went to the losee auto auction,,
i went like 2 weeks ago, i think,,
there were 2 240s but the one with the good body
didnt run and was auto , and the one that run was 5 speed but the body
was all damaged it just had 2 many dent on all the body
o i remember seing 2 240s in their "parking lot" (the street)
they look nice

well .... for 300 .... u can part the car out ... take what cha can and put it in the other car .. and sell the rest of the pieces of the car ... u might break even .... but going to be alota work on yur side ... if ya dont might the work ... i guess u can get it ... :P

lol,,, the dashboard is the worst dashboard ive seen in a 240sx it had like 20 cracks,,, it had one of thos black covers and when i took it off the owner just turned around lol,, i might probly buy the car just for the ka24e and the transmission , port and polish the head and get better pistons ,, and turbo that motor, and to have a 5 speed car
and about the seats cant really remmember but i gues you can always clean them,,

not really a waste of time, my friend in san jose, has seen some turbo ka24e, that has a lot of power...

Ehh for the money and effort it mise well be an sr unless you really strive to be different. The powerband is so much better and the aftermarket parts are so much more plentyful. Now I like the idea of turboing a ka and it can be done for dirt cheap and yeah its definately a good route to go but building one up i dunno about that one.

built turbo ka = cool.

Ivan @ SP/Phat-KAT was able to make 400ish rwhp on a stock bottom end KADE before things started letting go. I'd imagine with a built bottom end 500-600rwhp is within reach.

i do think that building a ka is cool,
but have you guys seen a ka24e built?
i dont want to get that much horsepower
i just want to make my ka24e around 240-260 hp
or enough to get me sliding or maybe if i find a newer 240
build that

you dont need to build a ka for 250-260hp all you need is prolly 9-10lbs a boost its already got a high comp and your there just make sure its properly tuned.

high comp? a KA24E is either 9.1:1 or 8.6:1 compression depending on year, and the KA24DE is 9.5:1, none of which I would consider high compression.

I know multiple people running 12-14psi on 10:1 compression motors (3000GT 6G72 6 cylinder), with little more than larger injectors and an SAFC.

I'd say if you're aiming for 250rwhp out of a single cam, but the SS autochrome manifold, slap on a used T25 or T28, fab up some pipes for a starion (or similar sized) FMIC, get some stock SR20 injectors, fuel management (via SAFC, etc...) and call it a day. If you want to be real trick about it pick up the MSD Boost-timing system, since using an S-AFC to control fuel will absolutely rape your stock ECU timing maps because of the way it handles adjustments.

I've seen two ported and polished KA24 heads. Neither were turbo, but as far as NA they made a couple upper end HP but lost BIG time low end. I don't think its worth it, unless you are looking for every single last HP. Also, if whoever is p&p isn't flow testing its pointless.

Hey what part of San jose did you use to live in, Me and Joel are from there, kinda weird we all met up in las vegas....

I would say higher than any car that comes turbo from the factory but yeah i forgot the ka24e had a lower comp but still 250 isnt hard to obtain from a stock engine
