Hi guys !! .. Ok this is what im going to do...
I am halfway done striping my 89 240sx to bar metal .. i was wondering , what is the best way of removing the under coating of the car? and what is the purpose of stich-welding the seems of the car?
The motor will be swaped for a sr20det, port and polish the head
Wide body kit from chargespeed, jic flta2 coilovers ... for now ....
I will be posting pics of my progress ...
If you guys have any suggestions please let me know .. I wanna do this right .. hehehe B)

Why would you want to get rid of the undercoating of the car?
As for seam welding, this is done to make the car more rigid by welding all of the sheet metal together.
I hope this is not going to be a street car. seam welding will change how a car reacts in a car crash
If you go with a widebody then you are going to have to get some large wheels to fill the wheel wheel, nothing looks more disgusting then a wide body with sunken in wheels.

ohh ... i didnt know that .... thanks for the info ... ok so no stich welding hehe ....
but I am tearing the car down to get rid of all the rust first of all then paint it inside and out and the engine bay as well ... the interier looked like crap so i wanted to just redo the whole inside and clean it up so it looks good .. hehe
and for removing the undercoating of the car ... looks like crap so i wanted to clean it up a little hehe ... Is this a good idea or just a waste of time ... I just wanna make sure I take all the rust out basically and clean it up

sounds to me like you are putting a lot of work into a car when you could have spent the same amount of money and bought one in better shape to start with.
Is there a reason you are doing this?

If there is rust just clean up those areas, there is no resaon to remove all of the undercoating

Ok. I think making a drift and show car is a bad idea. If you drift, you will crash. Its simply a matter of time. Just want to be sure you know you are going to spend 10,000 bucks building a show car and then smash it up.
with that out of the way: forget stripping the undercoating. clean up the parts that are rusted, if there is major rust you can take it to a shop that does full chassis sandblasting or acid dip, either way will eliminate all the rust and paint and reduce it to bare metal very quickly. I would also have a cage put in at this time (it will have to be welded in) and probably spray a thin layer of rhino liner on the inside of the car. You will then have to IMMEDIATELY primer and paint it. Primer by itself does not seal and the car will corrode again if you do not finish the paint job. make sure you have a good body shop to do the wide body kit work. If they know their stuff they should be able to mold the kit to the car properly, if not the fiberglass/bondo/etc body work will crack over time and ruin your paint job.
I think thats all I can think of for body work. Stitch welding is neat but very time consuming (read: expensive) and you can stiffen the car by adding all sorts of braces and a full cage.
Other things to think about: fuel safe, wheels, new glass, shave door handles/whatever if thats your thing.

I know this is a late post but I would not suggest stripping a car down to bare metal. That is just asking for problems later(unless you are going through a good auto body shop). Just knock the shine off the car and strip only the areas that are rusted. Let the factory primer and paint help protect your new paint. That is just my opinion though.
