Well, after the damn car being stuck in the paint shop for over a week longer then they said it would take to fix up their screw-ups, things are looking better.
Called the paintshop today, they said it goes into paint tomorrow and should be ready to be picked up sunday. Also turns out that since they ended up keeping it so long (and somewhat inconveniencing me) they pulled out all the small dents along the sides of my car for free :)
Add to that the fact that my wheels which were supposed to be on back-order until the end of the month minimum ended up shipping today from california, so I should have them by saturday!!!
So, during the next week i've got the following stuff to do:
-get my custom water/alky injection setup installed
-get my tires mounted/balanced on the wheels
-install my rear coilovers
-rewire most of the stuff in my car (gauges, blitz sbc, etc...) properly; i.e.; with a fuse-panel and a seperate line from the battery through an ignition triggered relay
-possibly install/tune my MAP ecu so I can ditch the MAF and run speed density
-scrounge up the $$ so i can order the parts to do my oil filter relocation / oil cooler setup.
can't wait to try my hand at drifting next weekend, as well as meet everyone at the BBQ.
