Okay, got a Works Bell Hicas steering wheel boss, "Rapfix II" steering wheel quick release with lock and a Nardi "Classic" steering wheel.

If you don't know, Works Bell is the originator of the quick release (they also make the "splash" brand and were closely copied by NRG) and if you look closely at most professional drift cars, you'll see Works Bell products.

My opinion of these products is that their quality is excellent. Fit and finish is flawless. I also like it because it brings the steering wheel back towards me about 3 inches which puts some distance between the steering wheel and the blinker/wiper stalks so i don't accidentally hit them when turning the wheel quickly.

If anyone is interested in getting these, please let me know. :righton:

Here are pics of the different products:

Installation was very straight forward:

-Make sure that your steering wheel is straight
-Remove stock steering wheel horn button
-Using a 19mm socket, remove center nut from steering column
-Using steering wheel puller tool, thread two bolts into steering wheel, then turn center bolt to pull steering wheel off of the steering column.
-Line up steering boss to the steering column (hint use red mark)
-Slide steering boss onto the steering column and install 19mm nut onto steering column.
-Torque 19mm nut to factory spec (use your FSM)

-Connect supplied wire harness to stock harness coming from steering column.
-Seperate the two sides of the Rapfix II.
-Take one of the supplied grounding rings and place between the boss and the Rapfix II. Attach ground wire to grounding ring.
-Line up Rapfix II and install supplied allen head nuts to secure to steering boss.
-Hook up the ground wire to the supplied rings and hook up ground wire.
-Take new steering wheel and attach the other side of the Rapfix II quick release to the steering wheel and secure using supplied bolts.
-Attach positive wire to horn button
-Install horn button.
-Test Horn.

sorry to say...but thats the most common style of quick release for a steering wheel out there now...its a nice setup and all...however car theives have now become keen to this style of quick release and begun bringing steering wheels with this adapater with them

the 2 most uncommon styles are the D2 Quick Release (3 spline style) and the Sparco Quick Release (8 ball bearing spline style)...i have yet to see more than 2 people with each type of quick release

Probably why it would be a good idea to get the lock too, I'm sure thieves will catch onto the D2 & Sparco types.
