i need any and all help i can get. I have a 100 dollar budget to get my high mileage sr running like a champ once more. here is my current set up and a list of the troubles i am having.
http://www.cardomain.com/id/superturbotimer
My biggest prob is timing chain which im almost positive needs to be fixed.
Backfiring shifting from 1-2 2-3 3-4 almost every damn time. coming to every stop light car is droping to 400 rpm maybe less and when i am stopped climbs to 750 and is pretty steady. Watching my motor just idle it is shaking like shakira(exagerated). It idles rough to where i get a hand massage from my shift knob. from 1000 to about 4500 rpms i think on a dyno chart it would look like a set of stairs. SO FAR all ive done is take out spark plugs (ngk R platinum) gapped to .28 which did a little and timing is set at 15*. only full synthetic used every 2-3k miles and i am constantly overheating. If anyone can refer me to an expert to look at my car and tell me what the F*ck is up, id be most appreciative and offer any help i can give in the future. Id prefer to be contacted by phone since i am rarely on internet. 702-277-1656

Hey Jaimie i did what you said and still nothin. I think its mainly electrical but im no expert. I forgot to add i did a compression check and these are the numbers i came up with. Im thinking about making an appointment with phase2 but thats last resort since that will cost much more $$$
cylinder #1 126
#2 120
#3 120
#4 126

properly set up your bov sounds like it's too loose and venting too much air at low boost and clean out your iacv with carb cleaner. then readjust your idle per fsm

you may have a blown head gasget...check yer radiator for oil mixing with coolant (youll see black stuff floating around in yer coolant...its pretty hard to miss...if you dont wanna drain yer coolant...try opening up yer radiator cap and looking around a bit with a flash light) a blown head gasget would cause the car to heat up pretty bad
and wow yer compression is REALLY low...should be at least around 150-160 per cylinder...im not sure what causes loss of compression like that but it may just be yer head gasget...or piston rings...im sure matt can help out a little more here when he sees this...one BIG weakness in the redtop motors were the head gasgets (and lack of rocker arm stoppers)...if it is yer headgasget...go out and spend the 200-300 bones on a GOOD metal head gasget from someone like greddy or HKS...that will ensure you never blowing it again
did you try posting about this on NICO????

Well i checked for oil and found it coming off my BOV and nowhere else. Dont know what thats supposed to tell me but its been like that for quite awhile. I did find 2 small leaks in my radiator + my IC piping is blocking half the flow from the inlet/outlet(ka radiator). On top of that no fan shroud and +100 degrees i bet winter time i wont be overheatin. i was going to buy an alluminum radiator for ka and modify for sr but its just too much money for my gay p/t job($200). Im betting my money its something electrical b/c.....
When i went to pick up my car from cartune they werent finished with it, they had some problems with fuel so i had to wait for an hour for them to get me a newer ECU. I found some frayed wires in my engine bay .. i had fuses in wrong places and a number of other things. I just got a new o2 sensor the beginning of this year and the mechanic told me he couldnt get a signal from it(this week). I know for sure im misfiring all the damn time but dont know where else to begin. I checked and regapped plugs but coils i didnt check. I want to make an appointment with phase2 but i dont have the money to take it down there let alone money for repairs..... so i have come to the decision to put the car on ebay and cut my losses. BUT if you know anyone with 91-94 coupe with lsd....or no lsd i may be interested.

Dougs shop also would work. His father who has his mechanics shop with him is an expert on electric systems. He went to school for it and everything. If you have oil coming out of your blow off valve more than likely the seals in your turbo are blown. It may be time to dump it...
