Whats up. well i finally found a 240sx how i wanted it. looked for about 3-4 weeks and picked this one up. I got it for $500 and guy didnt know if the motor ran cuz he never tried. Battery was dead though. me and a fried had to drive to cali to get it. about 30 miles shy of San Diego. we did it in a day and it was a long long day. Well enough talk here is what the car came with and pics
-KYB 5 way adjustable struts- new installed
-Eiback springs -new installed
-Energy suspension bushing kit all around-new installed
-Koyo Aluminum radiator-new in box
-Z32 front brake calipers-not installed
-Skyline final drive
-17x7" rims with tires with about 60-70% tred left

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/726000-726999/726286_44_full.jpg
Needs new fender if i cant pull this one out
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/726000-726999/726286_45_full.jpg
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/726000-726999/726286_46_full.jpg
Interior needs some work, but all lights guages work and everything
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/726000-726999/726286_47_full.jpg
Well we jumped it and it started up. Ran really rough and couldnt hold an idle. car did sit for a while and there was barely any gas(gas light was on) so with a good tune up it should run good. The guy said that it had a rebuilt motor not too long ago
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/726000-726999/726286_48_full.jpg
This is my biggest concern. No frame damage so thats good. But i should be able to pull it out and tweak it so it looks good again. If i cant do it ill bring it somewhere to get that fixed.
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/726000-726999/726286_50_full.jpg
Not to good of a pic but its an undershot of the same damage

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/726000-726999/726286_52_full.jpg
Here are the rims it has. the 2 on drivers side are bent but still hold a seal. they are good for now until i can get them fixed or get different wheels
http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/726000-726999/726286_49_full.jpg

Well i hope you liked the pics. I got big plans for this car and gonna start putting it into effect this weekend. im gonna document everything so it should be a cool project. thanx for lookin and any comments would be great. thanx

is that the 'aircraft paint remover'? or something else you used to take the paint off?

killab18
04-14-2006, 07:39 PM
yea its aircraft paint stripper. shit works awesome

haveblue
04-14-2006, 11:15 PM
Does it just wipe the paint off? I'm thinking about using it, just wondering how big of a mess it makes.

VegasKAT
04-15-2006, 01:03 AM
Your making good progress on your project!

I used that before and while I was spraying the wind blew a little back on me and it started to itch! I guess that shit eats flesh & paint! LOL

I'd advise wearing long sleeves and gloves. Makes a big stinky mess, just look at the pictures you can see the melted paint on the ground.

killab18
04-15-2006, 11:23 AM
yea it does sting when it gets on you. but water deactivates it. Does make a mess but nothing a broom cant fix. lol. today im doin some body work. ill get pics up tonight probably. thanx

damn, looks good. you have alot of time on your hands dont you?? you wanna work on my car for me?!?!

killab18
04-15-2006, 06:47 PM
haha. no i really dont have too much time. i work from 3pm-11pm everyday. im off on weekends though. So i work on it a little bit before i got to work on the weekdays and usually all day saturday.
but if you pay me ill work on your car. lol

haveblue- when you use it, use a metal scraper. most parts come right off but you will be able to scrape some off also. and after then just put more stripper on the parts that didnt peal up. Its no too bad. you can fully remove the paint on 1 panel in like 30min.

RHD180sx
04-15-2006, 07:16 PM
haha, its all good, im just messin around. btw, where do you buy the paint remover from?? and its called aircraft paint remover?? or is there another name??

killab18
04-15-2006, 08:23 PM
I got it at autozone. its in a blue can with orange lettering. ill take a pic of the car and post up. its called aircraft paint stripper i belive. give me a min and ill get a pic

droid_unoes
04-16-2006, 12:04 AM

Ok i got my stud gun and went to town on some dents. not fully done with bondo but almost there. you can see how big the dents were in pictures above

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/726000-726999/726286_75_full.jpg
Here is a shot, not the best, but you can see how bad the body line was.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/6/web/726000-726999/726286_77_full.jpg
the whole is from the first stud that i pulled out and i pulled too hard with the slide hammer. then tried to weld it up but made it bigger. lol. i need to fix that still before i can fully bondo that part.

killab18
04-19-2006, 10:37 PM
thanx alot. yea i hate to bondo. when i started(i still dont have it down totally) i jacked up everything on my mx6. body lines were all mess up and wavy and everything. i learned that just put it on as smooth as possible and if its a big dent to fill in. best way is to do thin layers at a time. and sand inbetween so you can see your low spots.

Aight well here is a little update. didnt do much due to work. but its something. i primered it so i can see where im at and what needs more work. and as you can tell its the drivers rear. lol. i need to cut out that dent from behind. and then pull it out. tried everything else already so just waiting on for a cutter of some sort. But its comin together slowly but surely. for the motor, im waiting to hear from my friend. he said he can get an sr20 clip for $1500 from his close friends that own a shop in cali. he has came through before so lets see what happens. but if not im gonna buy a kade and slowly build it up. but anyway here are some pics.

Dgramps01
06-05-2006, 08:32 PM
so what is your paint scheme gonna be? single color, two tone, flake?...you are doin one hell of a job man keep it up...i would be sad to hear you go to one day or earl scheib for paint, quality work deserves quality paint!

killab18
06-05-2006, 10:36 PM
thanx but for paint scheme i am not sure yet. I will be painting myself. but its gonna be primered for a little bit until i get body kit, and totally fix all body work. i was gonna give the roll on paint job a shot but i dont know yet. but its defenitly going to be one color. i was thinkin about a really rich blue color. havent found the exact color on a car yet. but i found a s2000 that is very close to what im lookin for. i think it was monte carlo blue. but gonna focus on engine bay, engine, and interior now. more updates to come this week.

Aight well i got back from Iraq about 2 months ago now. started to work on the car again. Here are some pics of what i got done.

You should look into the solid subframe collars that SPL sells. Good stuff.

www.splparts.com

Cars looking to be really promising! Cant wait to see it finished.

killab18
04-06-2007, 08:29 PM
yea ive read about the subframe collars but they werent for me. and since i burned my old bushings off, the collars wont work now. lol. I found a write on how to fit the z32 subframe bushings in the s13 subframe. these are full polyurethane replacement bushings. no inserts or collars. so they will be the best over all. and as for full solid subframe bushing replacements, i think they will be to harsh for my liking.

but thanks. yea slowly but surly this thing will come around. need to get subframe and cross memeber cleane dup so i can put back on.

haveblue
04-06-2007, 09:56 PM
good job. let me know how the rear subframe bushings work out for you. i've been thinking about getting a full set of whiteline bushings and replacing all of those too. I have the collars right now and they were a good upgrade over stock too.

Wow I'm impressed dude. When I saw the first pics I thought that car was another jalopy, but you're cleaning it up nicely. Good to see other agressive wrenchers haha

Who did the diff? Looks the same as the weld locd we got from a luke a couple months ago.

Good luck on the rest of the project. And the fire pics are awesome :)

for the love of god they sell everything hella expensive...i was acutally wondering who would pay those prices.

What the fuck? 83 bucks is expensive to you?

83 for SPL

140 for kazama....fuck that shit.

You've lost your mind ceaser.

killab18
04-08-2007, 10:52 PM
lol. thanks for all the comments. i just dropped my head off at Baker's. might have them throw in some supertech valves and springs. but head will have 3 angle valve job at least, mild port and polish, decked, hot tanked. checked and everything. should come back brand new.

im waiting for my clutch to get here. as well as my new head studs, oil pump kit, and bearings. also trying to find some OEM timing chain kits. but i might just order it off of amsperformance this week if i cant find them any where else.

I found the subframe bushings for $90 for full replacement ones. polyurethane. so when they come in, i will let everyone know how it goes with the s13 subframe and all.

other than that i need to get my subframe and cross member sandblasted so i can paint them. i have a blaster but its not big enough for the cross member and subframe. so if anyone knows a good cheap place that can blast my subframe and cross member.

thanks for lookin. more to come this week. but as usual i just picked up another project that i need to get running. lol. so pics of that will come as well.
