I have done a few turbo swaps in my day and I just did one on my sr and a few of the bolts fell out and fucked my gasket up. Now these are the bolts between the manifold and the turbo they have alot of stress on them so they tend to come loose. Does anyone have any ideas on what bolts to use? I have the oem bolts and the that little bracket but it didn't seem to work......

No one has a problem but you... Try tightening them properly... Can be kind of tricky with an open ended wrench but my best reccomendation is using a high qaulity wrench like mack, matco, snap on etc makes a huge difference... oh yeah and lock washers...

not to get in a bitching match but I did a turbo swap on one of your cars when you sold it to carlo but the same thing happened. The only difference was that there was a megan racing gasket and that was shitty but the bolts where gone on it as well. I am sure the bolt tightening had alittle to do with it though.

I'm just trying to tell you how to solve the problem... Yeah that shitty gasket blew out... If you tighten them down properly this wont happen and it's tough without qaulity wrenches... Put lock washers on them too and call it a day... I gave you the answers to your question why go on anymore? Just do it and do it right this time...

yeah i know some lock washer would work but i have heard of other things working i think it was lennon that said something about some bolts he got from somewhere that worked on his turbo and i was just looking for other options.

I think they are just hard to tighten properly... Thats the biggest problem I found and I had a hard time reusing the metal locking spacer that comes stock... I need to invest in a nice set of wrenches man...

good wrenches do help a whole lot... if you buy cheap ones like, trade pro, or some crap they sell at checker or auto zone, they will probably strip your bolts, because the wrench doesn't sit tight on the bolt.. ... craftsman makes good wrenches... and they don't cost too much....

I have craftsmen wrench's... They suck and their new wrenches to solve that just have more points to grip the nut which is great and all but just doesn't give you as much room to work with which is needed in this case... Fuck it man tack weld them on... Take it apart and do everything right at once... The turbo is practically new and your not upgrading... Use oem nissan metal gaskets and tack weld the fucking nuts... You can still back out the studs if you have to remove them... Reseal the return line and seal it good... make sure everything lines up good too or replace it and get a qaulity oil feed line not that taiwan shit just end all the bs problems at once.

it's probably a user problem..haha.... i know some bolts are hard to get to.., but try to get it with a 6 point wrench, and put some red locktite,..and don't tack weld it.. cause locktite will do the job... i have used snap on..they are good tools, nice polish easy to clean, but then again i have used craftsman... and i think they compare...

flex pipe will help reduce the vibrations causing the bolts to back out.....
