Well heres the story:
After Doug fixing my oil leak from the motors front crank seal (which he did a great job btw), he informs me that my AC was only held together by ONE bolt and the AC BELT was the only things holding it up. There I panicked a littled until he said he put on an extra bolt for me so that it wont fall off. *phew* I thought, thanks, that would suck. Well after an afternoon of drifting and driving on Vegas' famous dilapidated streets, the problem started happening (i think all that moving around popped the screw out). On the way home from a baptismal, I turned on my AC to clear myself from the exhausting heat and humidity outside. Well, after a few miles with it on, I began hearing "grinding" noises from my engine bay. So.. I pulled over and checked out what it was. Didnt notice anything wrong the first time. Then I restarted the car and drove some more, half a mile later, i hear the same noise, but it sounds even worse. So, i parked my car again W/ the motor on, and looked in my engine bay. The area aroudn the AC belts, were sparking! So i quickly turned off my car and went back to see whats up. I saw that the belt was twisted in one part, another part was ABOUT to fall off the spinning disks, and that it was begining to rip. Okay, so for those who really know me, you know what I do next. PANIC! "Alright wats going on, shit, uhh. I thought I got this all fixed yesterday, this cant be happening, damn drift event, damn heat, damn i have work in an hour, argh!" So I go and call my brother in laws out and they come to where I was. One of them, who was a mechanic in CA, tells me to simply cut out the AC belt. So I did. *CLUNK* okay now the AC bracket fell off and its simply dangling there with one bolt attached. OKAY, it makes sense now. Doug told me about this before and now I'm really going crazy. So finally, i called my work, called a friend/co-worker to cover for me, and drove it to my brother in laws house. On 1st-3rd gear, this thing is rattlling sounding like Champa's new LSD but its coming from the FRONT! So I used some duct tape (supplied to me by Doug, which i WILL return to you when i come back to have this fixed), and taped up to my upper strut bar to hold up and supply extra support. Now I'm home writing this thing thinking, that it must be the hole where the bolt went in that its all chewed up, or the wrong size of bolt was put in and fell off, and that the drift event just made it even worse but helping it fall off.
Well now I'm paranoid again. I really hope I get this fixed ASAP.
I want to just replace the bolt (or try to) and put on a new belt.
The NOAC doesnt bother me, its the rattling that pinches a nerve.
Any information on like, what type of thread the bolt is, what belt part number to ask for, and how much it may cost, please feel free and say it here.
And to Doug, I'm not blaming you or anything. :D
If possible, try to help me fix this and replace my belt either Sunday or early Monday morning. I'll pay for the labor and materials. I hecka want to get my car in prostine running condition again. Please cure my paranoia
Thanks and any help from any of you is greatly appreciated.
(yeah its a small problem to some of you, but you know mr. peas  )
