I'm looking at some 17x9 +20 offset wheels..does anyone know if they will fit the s13 fastback without rolling/pulling the front/rear fenders? Also, does anyone know if it will clear coilovers?
Thanks!

see if you can include the tire size in width and sidewall you will mount on the rims, they make a difference on how they will fit on it.

its a good idea once u get into using wide wheels to roll yer fenders...if you do any hard turning yer wheels will rub the fenders pretty bad...and u will need to camber the back wheels in as well to get them to tuck under the fenders properly if yer car is lowered

get those + a bolt on spacer! Here is how you have to look at it... Sounds fucked up but if the wheel fits then it really doesn't fit... If you don't have to make any modification to make them fit then the wheels don't fit... That size barely clears coilovers and your t/c rods at full counter.. They will but just fine... You will need to slight roll your fenders but thats it. Run 215/45/17's or 235/40/17's depending on how much grip you want and pull the shit out of your fenders so you can fit a 15mil spacer :righton:

bah, you crazy drifters and your stretched tires.
9" wheel = minimum 245 width tire. i'd personally run a 275 width with a stiff sidewall.

found this for 18:
"<quote> 18x9 +11 offset front
18x10 -2 offset rear
Yes, they chopped off the part of the fender when they molded the flares. Since the wheels are wide, if you dont cut the fenders, when the car bounces it'll hit the fender

for 17"
"17x9's look good with around +10 in rear, +15 front, so you have to account for the smaller width and go lower offset if you want flush, but +20 will look nice just slightly sunk, shouldnt even need a roll for that setup."

Matt it's all about stiffening up the sidewall... It's not very cost effective to burn up better tires just so we can have stiffer sidewalls and it makes it a little more difficult to break loose... It's not like anyone in this town needs a stiffer sidewall or more grip tho...

I know, I'm just giving you shit.
It's yet another drifting vs. actual driving thing. I personally won't run stretched tires because I'm going for as much real traction and steering input as possible :)

Okay, was thinking of running 225/45/17's front and 235/45/17's rear...who in town does rolling/pulling of fenders and how much does it cost?
If i went with narrower width rim, say 17x7 or 17x8, would this alleviate the rolling/pulling issue?
This is what i'm looking for: I'd like to fit the widest 17" front/rear wheels that i can without rolling/pulling the fenders to make it fit. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated as far as make/model of wheel and recommended offset in the 4x114.3 bolt pattern along with tire sizes.

With any worthwhile wheel you're looking at having to roll fenders if your car is in anything but 4x4 mode (i.e.; you have anything lower than stock suspension).
Sticking to 4 lug really limits your options, especially in 17" wheels, unless you spend tons of cash or get lucky and find some used wheels.
If you want inexpensive and to get away without rolling fenders, get the 5Zigen FN01R-C's. You can fit x7 up front and x8 in the back without any changes, and you can get the x8 up front with some slight rolling of fenders.

I'll do it for $150. Alternately, I can rent you my fender roller for $40 and you can do it yourself.

wow....7/8? someone on another forum i'm on said "9/10 is Staggered. 8/9 is Haggard." but of course this goes into play that you do have power. unless you want to be the ultimate hardparker/poser/showcar. i say get 15s or something your car can push. yes you can get some awesome expensive rims, or you could just get some bolt on spacers and learn from there. and upgrade rims when the power is there.
(im talking outta experience, i ran 9/10 on ka, w/225/45, its doable, but smaller tires/rims woulda been a lot better *or more power*)
if you really have your heart set on the fno's. put a 205/40 or 215/45 probably would clear. and can be pushed by KA power. but is it recommended? not really extremely stretched tires are just as gay as extreme ammounts of negative camber. but who am i to talk, i have -2.7 degree camber up front and 225/45f and 235/40 on a 9.5j so whatever. roll your fenders. its easy.
*btw you wont be able to clear coilovers with the 7j in the offsets 5zigen offers in 4 lug, so you're better off with 9''s all around
baseball batt, hammer, fender roller, heat gun. all will work fine in conjunction with another.

won't clear what now?
I was running 17x7 and 17x8 fn0's (+35 all around) and cleared coilovers just fine on my red car, and that's with beefy tires (225/45 and 245/45 RT-215's)

well...i guess you're right because i havent rocked 7'' wheels with high offsets for like 2 years now. but my car needs at least a +17 offset to clear my silkroad coilovers on a 9'' rim. sil8ty runs the jic flta2s also and his is about the same as mine. offset/clearance wise. s13/s14.
i'm talking about the front btw. and wait, i used 15mm spacers on se rims, and volk te37s, and those are like +44 or some crap. so yeah nevermind. point being. why would you wnat a 7'' rim on your car. i dunno to each their own but its still haggard, staggard or not. :P

I was thinking of getting two sets of wheels...one set of 17's for day to day driving and one set of 15's for track days. I know 17x7 isn't the WIDEST nor is it the best to have in the back, but i've been searching and searching for some CHEAP wheels (just in case i bend/mash it) for street driving and it's hard to find "staggered" wheels with a decent offset..as it is now, with the set of 17's i'm looking at, i'll still need to run 15mm spacers front/back just cause the offset sucks, it'a a +40...what cheap-o wheels in 17" would you buy that's around $300-400 a SET that has a decent offset, width, AND will fit the crappy 4x114.3 bolt pattern while still clearing coilovers?
Suggestions/recommendations wanted!

There are no wheels you will be able to find that will be $400 for the set AND clear coilovers AND are 4x114.3, end of story.
The CHEAPEST wheels on the market you can get that will clear coilovers AND match stock lug pattern are the FN01R-C's, which can be had for between $700 and $800 per set depending on size.

just wait, save up and buy a set of rims you know you will like when you have enough $$. like msaskin says, you wont find brand new rims for $400 that will have a low offset and clear coilovers, but in terms of used ones, yes, that is if you are lucky. theres a bunch of rims out there like the 5zigen fn01rcs and even those new but heavy rota d2s that offer the correct 4-bolt patterns with low offsets (rota rims-supposedly, but not positive), i say save for them 5zigens. they look sweet, the price is sweet too.

Who sells/stocks nice rims in town? I haven't run across anywhere that has decent wheels/tires in stock, and i'm NOT talking about all the stores with "bling-bling" wheels (20" and larger in chrome).

for the ultimate in poser style, they've even got the bolts to make it look like a real 3-piece wheel!
