Gear Oil?

hey i need to change the gear oil in my tranny.. do i need to try to fix GL-4 fluid? or GL-5 would work also?? and for a Vlsd do i need to buy an lsd additive.. oh ya, what weight do i use for both?? thanks

yer not meant to change gear oil in yer VLSD but every 100k miles...use normal 80w/90 gear oil...you dont want thick oil in it...nissan may sell the correct weight gear oil for yer VLSD...i would check with them before changing it

KA/SR trannys love Redline and Royal Purple...if ur gonna be runnin yer shit hard...run 80w/120

and again...talk to nissan about yer VLSD before you proceed in changing the fluids in it

gl5 80w90 is recomended. your vlsd has a sealed lubrication system so you do not need any additives. just use the same gear oil in your tranny and in your vlsd.
