I was curious about doing this cuz i heard that if i want a good N/A motor i could swap the heads. Doing this should make the compression 11.7.1

Does anybody know how this can be accomplished? I believe I have all the parts to do it. And from what ive researched It should take about an hour and a half. whats ur guys opinion on this?

The heads from a SOHC and a DOHC do NOT interchange. Oil pump and distributor are way different. Maybe you read about using the early pistons from a SOHC to make higher compression?

well this thread says different  Now im way confused.... looks like it just takes a little shaving to the timing chain cover to do it

nevermind.... it only works on the early 89 motors

this conversion can be done...you need a TON of parts from the KA24de motor to do it though...not really worth it in the long run...yer better off just swapping the KA24de motor (its cheaper)...if all else go with a CA18det swap...will run u around the same price if not just a tad bit more

the DE swap isn't as easy as you'd think. if you are going SR then just wait to swap it then. E and DE are basically the same performance wise.

oh yeah, i actually have a E to DE swap in my hatch i did. it was a pain in the ass. only reason why i did it was cus the E was f'ed up and i had a parts car with the motor and everything else sitting in my drive way B)

we didn't leave until 6pm. i was there somewhere.
